Working with PNVS
Volunteer Crisis Responders: PNVS volunteer Crisis Responders are recruited from within the bi-county communities. They are dedicated responders whose focus is helping assist victims with their emotional and practical needs. Our Crisis Responders are from all age groups, walks of life and cohesively work together as a team.
Accredited Crisis Responders have completed over 50 hours of training comprised of minimum standards as set out by the Ministry of the Attorney General, enhanced minimum standards, demographic specific training, and group crisis intervention training.
Basic Requirements:
- Be at least 19 years old
- Consent to a background check
- Swear an Oath of Confidentiality
- Commit to 50+ hours of training
- Pass a written examination with no less than 75%
- Commit to two 12 hour shifts monthly
- Commit to monthly ongoing training meetings
Board of Directors:
Qualified applicants for the Board of Directors will serve on a volunteer board, comprised of professionals from within the bi-county area. The Board follows a policy making model.
